Lesson Topic

Parents,

I decided to post this blog as to keep you up to date on what your children are involved during school hours. I have decided this week during the Food and Nutrition Class that the students are taught about the basic food groups. Eating a healthy meal is a MUST in terms of your daughters nutrition.

Everyone knows that nutrition is the most important element for a person to function. The quality of the food that your daughters eat makes a significant difference in the way they, feel and develop. Food is also crucial to energy in the classroom. When it comes to feeding your children, there are rules that should be followed . Children need nutrients to grow strong and healthy. The Food Pyramid was designed to help people understand the guidelines about the five food groups Staples, Food from animals, Fats and Oils, Vegetables, Legumes, and Fruits.

Teaching the students the importance of a balanced diet is very important. In this lesson your daughters would be taught the recommended intake of each food group that should be consumed on a daily basis.

This is a much needed lessons since it was noticed that the students are always tired and listless during class. I do hope that your children would practice the skills that would be learnt in this particular session. I do hope they share the knowledge learnt with peers and family members.
