Lesson Topic

Parents,

I decided to post this blog as to keep you up to date on what your children are involved during school hours. I have decided this week during the Food and Nutrition Class that the students are taught about the basic food groups. Eating a healthy meal is a MUST in terms of your daughters nutrition.

Everyone knows that nutrition is the most important element for a person to function. The quality of the food that your daughters eat makes a significant difference in the way they, feel and develop. Food is also crucial to energy in the classroom. When it comes to feeding your children, there are rules that should be followed . Children need nutrients to grow strong and healthy. The Food Pyramid was designed to help people understand the guidelines about the five food groups Staples, Food from animals, Fats and Oils, Vegetables, Legumes, and Fruits.

Teaching the students the importance of a balanced diet is very important. In this lesson your daughters would be taught the recommended intake of each food group that should be consumed on a daily basis.

This is a much needed lessons since it was noticed that the students are always tired and listless during class. I do hope that your children would practice the skills that would be learnt in this particular session. I do hope they share the knowledge learnt with peers and family members.

I choose to post this blog to keep you up to date on what your children are doing during their Technology Education class. This website is being used for your convenience and feedback is always an option. An assignment was given to the girls which was to create a mobile using craft stick.

The informal classroom was used since it provides one of the most basic educational experiences. Informal classroom is when an activity is given in which students invent and enact dramatic situations for themselves, rather than for an outside audience. This activity, perhaps most widely known as creative learning.
Informal classrooms helps the girls to develop the skills of thinking analytically, in acting decisively and responsibly. Your child would develop the thinking skills in an organized, dynamic group activity within the security of the classroom. This practice involves students in shared and individual problem-solving. The assignment given also encouraged creativity since each student was able to choose colours that expressed their personality. It is also noted ,that active participation in the classroom broadens students' experiences, clarifies information, generates new ideas, and improves attitudes toward learning, which was the primary goal of this assignment.

A slideshow will be fowarded at a later date showing the students interacting positively during the class in an informal setting, as well as their end product.
